Become a Key Member of the Police Legal Affairs Team

Compensation: $105,000 - $115,000 Annually

The Baltimore Police Department is seeking a dedicated litigation counsel to join the Police Legal Affairs Practice Group. This team is tasked with addressing a variety of legal matters pertinent to the department. The selected candidate will manage a diverse caseload involving civil litigation and disciplinary proceedings, while also offering legal guidance on both strategic and operational challenges.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive legal research and deliver informed opinions
  • Collaborate effectively within litigation teams
  • Represent the department in legal disputes, prepare legal documentation, and oversee civil discovery processes
  • Investigate relevant facts, formulate litigation strategies, and articulate oral arguments

Qualifications:

Education: Juris Doctor from an accredited institution

Licenses and Certifications: Must be admitted to practice law in Maryland
