Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Sales Engineer to enhance our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering technical assistance to our esteemed clients, effectively conveying product details, managing sales operations, and ensuring outstanding customer service.
This position offers significant visibility within the organization and the opportunity to collaborate closely with a diverse and innovative clientele.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with clients by providing prompt responses and clear communication, along with necessary technical and commercial insights.
- Supervise the quoting and estimating procedures, collaborating with engineering and production teams to confirm project feasibility and compliance with industry standards.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies, risks, or issues related to specifications, pricing, and contractual terms.
- Understand and address specific client needs and concerns, diagnosing the root causes of complaints and formulating effective solutions.
- Evaluate the design and functionality of various tooling, assessing the quality and efficiency of both existing and new tooling while analyzing cost benefits.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of production processes and assess product manufacturability.
- Utilize customer feedback to pinpoint areas for enhancement in products and services.
- Stay informed about current market trends and pricing strategies within related sectors.
- Execute additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial manufacturing, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in the manufacturing sector, including at least three (3) years in a sales engineering capacity within a foundry or steel manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational, planning, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to build rapport across all organizational levels.
- Proficient customer service skills, enabling the establishment and maintenance of relationships with clients and vendors.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to make independent decisions based on knowledge and experience.
- Team-oriented, ethical, and trustworthy, with the capacity to adapt to and embrace change.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
Work Arrangements & Travel Requirements
This is a full-time onsite position. Travel may be required up to 10% for trade shows, conferences, sales meetings, and client site visits as necessary.
