Position Overview

A. Fantis is in search of a dedicated, insightful, and imaginative Middle School Mathematics Teacher who possesses outstanding pedagogical skills and a profound grasp of mathematical content. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about professional growth and thrive in a collaborative environment focused on continuous enhancement. A solid understanding of adolescent development, a genuine passion for teaching, and a commitment to fulfilling the school's mission and vision are essential. It is important to note that our faculty and student body are diverse, and being Greek Orthodox is not a requirement for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating a positive, engaging, and structured classroom atmosphere that inspires students to reach their maximum potential.
  • Building strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Taking ownership of student progress with a strong sense of urgency and accountability for measurable outcomes.
  • Designing innovative lessons that align with our curriculum, goals, and objectives.
  • Collaborating with peers in various roles, including planning, assessing student growth, mentoring, and observing fellow educators.
  • Utilizing assessments and classroom performance data to effectively monitor student progress and inform instruction.
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance skills as an instructional leader.
  • Committing to the school's mission of educating the whole child—mind, body, and spirit.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Experience teaching at the Middle School level.
  • Ability to reflect on one's teaching practice and engage in a professional community striving for excellence.
  • Capability to establish and maintain productive, collaborative relationships.
  • Understanding of child development and the significance of Social/Emotional learning in fostering positive educational environments.
  • Demonstrated empathy, organizational skills, and compassion.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
  • A flexible mindset and a sense of humor.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range: $65,000 - $80,000.
  • Additional stipends available ranging from $2,000 to $10,000 for afterschool programs.
