Position Overview

A. Fantis is in search of a dedicated, insightful, and innovative Middle School Mathematics Educator who possesses outstanding pedagogical skills and a comprehensive understanding of mathematical content. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about professional growth and thrive in a collaborative setting that emphasizes continuous improvement. A solid grasp of adolescent development, a genuine passion for teaching, and alignment with the school's mission and vision are essential. It is important to note that our faculty and student body are diverse, and being Greek Orthodox is not a requirement for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating a positive, engaging, and structured classroom atmosphere that inspires students to reach their maximum potential.
  • Building strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Taking ownership of student progress with a strong sense of urgency and accountability for measurable outcomes.
  • Designing innovative lessons that align with curriculum standards and educational objectives.
  • Collaborating with peers in various roles, including lesson planning, assessing student growth, mentoring, and conducting peer observations.
  • Utilizing assessments and classroom performance data to effectively monitor student progress and inform instructional strategies.
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance skills as an instructional leader.
  • Embracing the school's mission to educate the whole child—mind, body, and spirit.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Experience teaching at the Middle School level.
  • Ability to reflect on teaching practices and engage in a professional community committed to excellence.
  • Capacity to establish and maintain productive, collaborative relationships.
  • Understanding of child development and the significance of Social/Emotional learning in fostering positive educational environments.
  • Demonstrated empathy, organizational skills, and compassion.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
  • A receptive mindset and a sense of humor.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range: $65,000 - $80,000.
  • Potential stipends ranging from $2,000 to $10,000 for afterschool programs.
