Role Summary

The Member Solutions Specialist plays a vital role in minimizing delinquency and loan losses across all lending products offered by the credit union. This position functions as an individual contributor within the Member Solutions department.

Member Service Expertise

Effectively manages member accounts to ensure their needs are understood and met. Provides timely and professional service to both internal and external members, maintaining a courteous and inviting demeanor. Utilizes a member-centric approach to uncover opportunities that enhance our members' financial situations.

Demonstrates the ability to organize tasks, manage time and resources efficiently, and prioritize projects effectively.

Mastery of Essential Duties

Capable of executing essential duties as outlined in the job description, contributing positively to productivity and value within the role.

Key Responsibilities


• Initiate collection procedures and facilitate payment arrangements for members with delinquent loans to mitigate bad debt risk.


• Assist staff and members with delinquent loan inquiries to ensure accurate and efficient processing.


• Maintain comprehensive documentation of all collection efforts to ensure accurate tracking of attempts.


• Offer loan extensions or workout options to members to minimize delinquency and potential losses.


• Provide financial counseling to enhance the financial well-being of our members.


• Continuously update evaluation documentation on delinquent loans to ensure recommendations align with the credit union's best interests.


• Generate reports and trends reflecting loan delinquency to identify and monitor potential patterns.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, an individual must effectively perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

Education

High School Diploma in General Studies is required.

Experience

6 Months to 2 Years of experience in collections and/or lending is preferred.

Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of the financial industry, familiarity with relevant laws and regulations, and excellent communication and public relations skills are essential.

Mental Demands

The team member must be able to read and interpret documents, follow complex instructions, make decisions, and resolve problems efficiently.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, frequently required to sit and use hands, and occasionally required to stand, walk, or lift up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment

The work environment is typically moderate in noise level, and reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
