Operations Assistant Manager

The Assistant Operations Supervisor plays a vital role in overseeing the branch's Teller Unit, ensuring exceptional customer service while managing transactions and addressing client concerns. This position supports the Operations Supervisor in effectively running all Teller unit operations, which includes daily activities, technical assistance, team management, and employee training. In the absence of the Operations Supervisor, the Assistant Operations Supervisor takes full responsibility for the teller unit and may step in as a Teller during peak transaction periods.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Operations Supervisor in managing teller unit functions, inspiring staff to deliver outstanding customer service while executing standard banking and client service tasks.
- Act as a substitute for the Operations Supervisor and tellers as necessary.
- Provide technical support and training to Tellers on operational procedures and relevant systems.
- Ensure that transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Assist in organizing work schedules and delegating tasks.
- Handle routine banking transactions and resolve moderate customer inquiries.
- Contribute to cash management responsibilities, including monitoring cash reserves, distributing and collecting cash from tellers, and completing daily reconciliations.
- Address immediate sales and service needs to minimize customer wait times.
- Recommend appropriate Bank products and services to meet client requirements.
- Collaborate with the Operations Supervisor to assess staff performance and engage in the recruitment process.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of relevant banking laws and regulations, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) compliance.
- Assist in the opening and closing procedures of the branch's cash vault.
- Conduct ATM reconciliations and provide transaction approvals to Tellers when necessary.
- Perform filing and general administrative tasks.
- Adhere to the Code of Conduct and all internal policies and procedures of Apple Bank.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of prior teller experience is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are essential.
- Excellent listening, communication (both verbal and written), and interpersonal skills are required.
- Proficient computer skills and the ability to adapt to new technology are necessary.
- Exhibit courteous and friendly behavior.
- Possess a thorough understanding of various Bank products and services.
- Availability to work weekends and extended hours or at nearby branch locations when necessary.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a high level of integrity.
- Show a willingness and enthusiasm to engage in a team-oriented environment.
