Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is in search of a detail-oriented, professional, and results-driven individual to fulfill the role of Recruitment and Resources Specialist. This position will oversee, coordinate, and enhance the foster care recruitment initiative for a designated area, ensuring the effective execution of a targeted recruitment strategy for foster homes. The role involves traveling to various locations to conduct community outreach and presentations aimed at recruiting foster families. Proficiency in Spanish is required for this position. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about child welfare and committed to ensuring the availability of foster families for children in care. Key Responsibilities
  1. Design, coordinate, and monitor the foster care recruitment initiative for a specified area, ensuring effective implementation of a targeted recruitment strategy.
  2. Provide professional support and strengthen relationships with foster parents.
  3. Develop and execute a localized plan to identify resource needs.
  4. Translate and interpret for Spanish-speaking clients regarding available services and the completion of necessary forms.
  5. Collaborate with the Office of Contract Administration to develop contracts for unmet service needs.
  6. Offer professional assistance and resource development support to casework staff dealing with specialized service needs.
  7. Maintain reports and analyze data with respective workers, supervisors, and administrators to enhance understanding of foster parent recruitment and resource needs.
  8. Stay informed about foster program data analysis and its application for program improvement on both regional and statewide levels.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned that are within the scope of the responsibilities outlined above.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. A master's degree or equivalent knowledge, skill, and mental development.
  2. Two years of progressively responsible professional experience in community organization, social service work, or program planning and development.
  3. Ability to communicate in Spanish at a colloquial skill level.
Conditions of Employment
  1. Must pass a background check.
  2. Possession of a valid driver's license and willingness to travel, including evenings and weekends.

Work Hours: Monday - Friday 08:30am - 05:00pm

Job Family: Social Services
