The Patient Care Tech (PCT) plays a vital role in providing direct patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the PCT performs a range of essential patient services, including bathing, mouth care, and vital sign collection.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Collect and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure
- Provide basic care, including mouth care, elimination, and hygiene
- Assist with patient transfers and mobility
- Perform designated bedside lab tests and collect specimens
- Apply oxygen therapy and perform electrocardiogram (ECG) as directed
- Assist with wound care and urinary catheterizations
- Initiate emergency procedures as necessary
- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- State-tested Nurse Assistant or completion of a PCT training program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Computer literacy and basic math skills
