Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Specialist I to join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As a key member of our behavioral health team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical Responsibilities:
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Provide Trauma-Informed care to patients and families, utilizing de-escalation techniques and physical intervention skills as needed.
- Collect and document patient data, including vital signs, medical history, and treatment plans.
- Assist with admission and discharge processes, including patient orientation and education.
- Environmental Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff, including regular checks of the patient environment and completion of unit-specific environmental duties.
- Assist with linen and trash management, and maintain Joint Commission readiness.
- Interpersonal Responsibilities:
- Provide age-appropriate care to patients and families, utilizing growth and development principles.
- Participate in unit conferences and meetings, and provide input on patient care and unit operations.
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent, or students in a related field with relevant coursework.
- Certification: CPR training (American Heart Association or Red Cross equivalent).
- Skills: Good written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
