The SCCC Post Award Team is looking for a Senior Grant Management Specialist (Post-Award) (Hybrid/Remote).

The Sponsored Programs Specialist plays a crucial role in the post-award management of all sponsored initiatives associated with the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center (SCCC).

Our responsibilities include ensuring that accounts are accurately established for all incoming awards, preparing monthly financial reconciliations, overseeing grant expenditures, compiling financial reports for submission to sponsors, and managing the closure of expired sponsored initiatives.

We also offer guidance on various post-award management topics, including cost allowability on sponsored projects, effort certification, cost sharing, and compliance-related matters.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Access relevant databases to verify compliance approvals prior to establishing project accounts.
Monitor, review, and reconcile award budgets, balances, and expenditures.

All expenses must be allowable, allocable, and reasonable in accordance with grant terms, budget limits, and performance periods.

Conduct periodic reviews for assigned sponsored awards (portfolio reviews), which include monitoring spending patterns, transaction reviews/approvals, resolving minor balances on awards, tracking cost-sharing commitments, and overseeing subrecipient expenditures.

Review, approve, and execute salary redistributions and journal entries as necessary to ensure accurate expenditure accounting.
Process and disseminate various non-financial post-award actions such as award notifications, amendments, and related documentation.
Coordinate budget revisions with faculty/project leads.
Assist in the management of project closeouts.
Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies or errors within research accounts, requiring collaboration with faculty members, ORA staff, and other departments.

Recognize gaps and propose improvements to enhance effective business practices and standard operating procedures related to award financial monitoring.

Submit all received and endorsed invoices to accounts payable and track timely payments by that unit.
Serve as a subject matter expert on financial monitoring of awards and provide training to research personnel.
Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures while safeguarding University assets.
Prior experience in data analysis and conclusion formulation is essential.
Ensure the provision of excellent customer service to SCCC members and colleagues.
Participate in training and professional development opportunities as determined by the Post-Award Manager.

CORE QUALIFICATIONSEducation:


Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:

Ability to complete assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
