Job Summary

The Residential Instructor is responsible for providing daily care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. This role involves implementing Agency policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and welfare of consumers, and providing a fun, safe, and healthy environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Monitor consumer behavior and implement behavior management programs as needed.
  2. Document all shift activities and incidents in the log and on consumers in Therap.
  3. Provide programmatic and statistical reports as required.
  4. Maintain safety, appearance, and cleanliness of the home.
  5. Provide counseling and reinforcement to assigned consumers.
  6. Assist in supervising and safely transporting residents to community activities.
  7. Know and follow emergency home procedures.
  8. Report and respond to any violation of individuals' rights.
  9. Assist in shopping, meal preparation, and clean-up.
  10. Attend in-service training and seminars.
Requirements
  1. Minimum possession of a High School Diploma or a G.E.D.
  2. Minimum two years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dual diagnosis.
  3. Valid drivers license and ability to be insured by our insurance company.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to obtain and maintain certifications in CPR, First Aid, PMT, and DDS State Medication Administration.
  6. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and physically intervene with individuals as required.
