Residential Care Specialist

The Residential Instructor is responsible for providing daily support and supervision to consumers with developmental disabilities. This role involves implementing Agency policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of consumers and Agency property.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor consumer behavior and implement behavior management programs as needed.
- Document all shift activities and incidents in the log and on consumers in Therap.
- Provide programmatic and statistical reports as required.
- Maintain a safe and clean living environment, conducting regular sanitation and safety inspections.
- Develop and implement individualized plans to support consumer progress and goals.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and support.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents, completing incident reports as necessary.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
- Adhere to all Agency policies and procedures, including those related to medication administration, key control, and consumer rights.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dual diagnosis.
- Valid driver's license and ability to be insured by our insurance company.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and physically intervene as necessary.
The Residential Instructor is directly accountable to the Residential Manager or designee.
