Supplier Relations Analyst

As a Category Management Analyst at Anixter, you will play a pivotal role in the execution of strategies for designated categories, with a primary focus on optimizing organizational expenditures to enhance savings while fostering strong relationships with both business stakeholders and suppliers.

Your responsibilities will include assisting in Supplier Relations and category strategy formulation, contributing to the implementation of supplier growth initiatives, and occasionally spearheading product optimization projects and onboarding of new products.

Moreover, you will oversee assigned supplier partnerships, delivering enhanced value for both Anixter and its suppliers. You will collaborate across departments to pinpoint opportunities for cost reduction, spend management, and pricing enhancements to boost category profitability.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing a refined Product Assortment & Merchandising strategy.
  • Support the Supplier Relationship team by generating reports, analyzing data, and creating presentations.
  • Help prepare for Supplier meetings through data collection, product analysis, and presentation design.
  • Conduct opportunity evaluations, benchmarking, and cost modeling to identify sourcing prospects.
  • Prepare projections for category improvements and perform post-implementation variance assessments.
  • Collaborate with the contract management team on contract data administration, addendums, item master sheets, and other supplier documentation.
  • Assist category managers in establishing supplier performance and continuous improvement targets along with relevant scorecards.
  • Participate in the administration of supplier assessments, scorecards, and analytics to monitor supplier performance.
  • Support the development and execution of marketing plans.
  • Effectively communicate essential product messaging both internally and externally.
  • Conduct product evaluations and comparisons to identify suitable alternatives.
  • Manage and communicate new product introductions.
  • Engage in supplier negotiations to secure optimal value.
  • Address supplier performance management and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with the KPI team to create a tracking system for reporting and communicating achieved savings.
  • Support various initiatives/projects within the organization that may impact overall performance and work with relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in sales, marketing, purchasing, or inventory management.
  • Preferred experience in product category management (2 years).
  • Proven track record in maintaining and developing key relationships (2 years).
  • Proficient in Excel and Access.
  • Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills.
  • Excellent business and financial acumen.
  • Willingness to travel 0-25% of the time.
