Position Overview
The Community Health Nutritionist will spearhead initiatives and programs designed to enhance the nutritional knowledge and practices of families and children residing in underserved areas. The primary goals are to promote healthy eating habits and to mitigate the prevalence of chronic health issues such as diabetes and hypertension.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement nutrition education strategies utilizing evidence-based curricula tailored for diverse audiences in community markets.
- Conduct engaging cooking demonstrations at both school-based and community markets.
- Provide training on dietary health and nutrition topics to team members, including market leaders and volunteers.
- Ensure that recipe development and children's activities align with established dietary guidelines and best practices.
- Collaborate with the Healthy Foods Director to create a nutrition internship program.
- Supervise and mentor nutrition interns, fostering their professional growth.
- Define and maintain metrics for assessing the effectiveness of nutrition programs in collaboration with the evaluation team.
- Analyze and report on program outcomes related to nutrition knowledge and behaviors.
- Collaborate with communication teams to design health promotion campaigns and materials.
- Represent the organization at community forums and speaking engagements focused on health and wellness.

Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in nutrition education or community health.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Experience working with families in low-access food environments.
- Proficient in coaching and guiding team members in nutrition education.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or a related field.
- Certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) is preferred. A Master’s degree in Nutrition may be considered in lieu of certification.

Work Environment
- The role will be performed in a typical office setting with moderate noise levels. The position requires the use of standard office equipment and completion of a background check.
