Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nutritionist to join our team at Seabury Resources for Aging. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and delivering nutrition services to older adults in the greater Washington, DC area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement nutrition programs and services for older adults, including meal planning, nutrition education, and counseling.
  • Collaborate with community agencies and aging programs to promote nutrition services and outreach activities.
  • Manage the Hungry Harvest program and provide oversight of the dietary needs of Home First residents.
  • Conduct food demonstrations and provide training for community dining managers, aides, and staff members.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to provide educational and fun activities around health and nutrition.
  • Provide one-on-one counseling and guidance to clients at risk of poor nutrition and make referrals to other service providers as needed.
  • Develop comprehensive plans of care to include nutrition and health information, physical fitness tips, and follow-up on food shopping and meal preparation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Registered, licensed nutritionist or dietitian in the District of Columbia with at least three years of experience in food service management.
  • Experience in program management and supervision, preferably involving services for older persons.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and be sensitive to the needs of older persons.
  • Current CPR certification required.
Work Environment

Standard office environment with occasional field visits.
