Position Overview

TRC is in search of a dedicated and experienced Senior Bridge Engineer to enhance our transportation division in Pennsylvania. This role offers flexibility, allowing for work from various locations across the United States, depending on project requirements.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in bridge engineering, particularly with PennDOT projects, and will thrive in a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities will include planning, designing, and supervising civil engineering projects, with a focus on the inspection, load rating, and rehabilitation of bridges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in the design of new bridges and the rehabilitation of existing structures.
  • Contribute to the creation of project plans, specifications, reports, and cost assessments.
  • Participate in all project phases, including inspections, load ratings, and design evaluations.
  • Conduct site visits during construction and review shop drawings effectively.
  • Deliver high-quality outputs while adhering to project budgets and timelines.
  • Foster strong working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and supervise junior staff, ensuring they meet their job responsibilities.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control on design calculations and reports.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a BS or MS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, along with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in bridge design, rehabilitation, inspection, and load rating.

A Professional Engineer License in Pennsylvania is preferred, along with familiarity with PennDOT's engineering programs. Certification as a Bridge Safety Inspector is advantageous.

Proficiency in engineering design software, particularly Microstation, and strong skills in Microsoft Office applications are essential. Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, are required, along with a flexible and organized approach to work.
