We are currently seeking a Bridge Design Engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment. This role involves engaging in intricate engineering designs and delivering projects while collaborating with fellow design professionals, managers, and mentors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts assignments that necessitate a fundamental understanding of engineering principles and applies these principles to produce engineering deliverables.
  • Participates in projects involving various structures, including bridges (prestressed concrete and steel plate girders), retaining walls, box culverts, and other transportation-related infrastructures.
  • Performs a range of engineering tasks such as report preparation, investigative studies, engineering design calculations, and detailing of structural components.
  • Converts design specifications and standard details into finalized designs.
  • Ensures designs adhere to company protocols as well as client standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively clarifies project design issues and approaches tasks with a clear understanding of timelines and budget constraints.
  • Completes assignments punctually and within budgetary limits.
  • Participates in project team meetings to discuss progress and challenges.
  • Maintains regular communication with team members to confirm design requirements and address any issues that may arise.
  • Seeks guidance when assigned tasks exceed current knowledge or experience.
  • Engages in field-related activities to gain practical experience, enhance understanding of construction methodologies, and develop essential engineering skills.

Qualifications:

  • A BS or MS degree in civil engineering is required.
  • Preferred candidates will have progressive technical experience and a broad knowledge base.
  • Focus on bridge design and transportation engineering is essential.
  • EIT certification is required.
  • Experience in consulting engineering or the construction sector is advantageous, with familiarity in relevant regulatory processes being a plus.
  • Ability to take ownership of technical work outputs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in report writing.
  • Self-driven with the capability to work autonomously.
  • A collaborative team player with outstanding interpersonal abilities.
