About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Assistant - Interviewer to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a Research Assistant - Interviewer, you will play a critical role in contributing to the field activities of an ongoing community health project that measures prevalence of HIV, health and social issues, health-related behaviors and access to services among people who use drugs in the Baltimore metro region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and enroll research participants for the community health project.
  • Conduct data collection activities, including participant screening, obtaining informed consent, and interviewing using computerized interviewing tools.
  • Provide HIV counseling and testing, and referrals to care as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the research team to ensure the successful completion of project objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as public health, sociology, or psychology.
  • Experience with research or data collection activities, preferably in a community health setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and electronic communications, with experience using data collection tools and software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with marginalized and diverse populations, including people who use drugs.
  • Knowledge of harm reduction and public health approaches to drug use and related risk reduction.
  • Experience with study populations and/or other diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
