Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Research Nurse to provide essential support services that align with the clinical and research goals of the organization. This position is focused on delivering high-quality clinical assistance to research participants and facilitating the collection of research data.

  • Administer study medications.
  • Engage in patient recruitment and follow-up for clinical and foundational research studies, offering clinical support to participants.
  • Assist medical and research personnel in interviewing, screening, and assessing the suitability of candidates for research protocols.
  • Oversee clinical and research support tasks to ensure patient safety and address their clinical needs.
  • Facilitate the informed consent process and ensure the protection of human subjects in research, advising patients on potential risks.
  • Participate in direct patient care, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to develop and communicate a comprehensive care plan that integrates clinical and research needs.
  • Work alongside researchers and medical staff to secure and maintain informed consent, addressing ethical and legal considerations of the research protocol.
  • Contribute to all study-related Institutional Review Board (IRB) and regulatory matters, including compliance with reporting requirements and promptly addressing any issues or variances to the research team.
  • Conduct precise data entry into research databases, utilizing standardized assessment tools.
  • Support the implementation, monitoring, data acquisition, collection, and reporting of all protocol elements.
  • Present clinical data in an understandable manner for patients while ensuring clarity for other healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to assess and enhance current healthcare delivery systems, identifying and implementing improved practices.
  • Attend clinical practice and research support meetings, contributing to multidisciplinary performance improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational procedures and patient care while reducing costs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) or an Associate's degree in nursing with an additional two (2) years of experience in lieu of a BSN.
  • Active nursing license in the relevant state.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of nursing experience.
  • Ability to obtain CPR certification.
  • Basic Life Support training.
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is a plus.
