The Patient Service Representative is a vital member of the physician's care team, responsible for creating a seamless and pleasant patient experience within an ambulatory clinic. This role is critical in ensuring that patients receive exceptional care and service.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule internal and external referrals, appointments, and procedures using Epic Cadence decision trees.
- Responsible for registration of patients during the scheduling process, including demographics, insurance verification, and scanning and document preparation.
- Preauthorize clinic-specific visits and procedures as needed.
- Assist patients with MyChart activation and support, including online check-in prior to appointments.
- Collect point-of-service collections due per the EMR-generated patient estimate.
- Support patient self-check-in using MyChart and the EMR.
- Schedule follow-up internal and external diagnostic and therapeutic orders, creating a patient itinerary based on provider orders.
- Ensure proper front desk coverage until the last patient is dismissed from the clinic.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- 1+ years of customer service or healthcare experience.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- High level of customer service skills, focusing on problem resolution.
