Job Summary

The Patient Service Representative is a critical member of the physician's care team, responsible for creating a seamless patient experience in an ambulatory clinic. This role involves front desk operations, including greeting and checking in patients, answering calls, and processing external medical records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Visit Scheduling: Schedule internal and external referrals, appointments, and procedures using Epic Cadence decision trees.
  • Registration: Register patients during the scheduling process, including demographics, insurance verification, and Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire (MSPQ) completion.
  • Check-In/Check-Out: Perform high-volume patient clinic check-in and check-out, following health system standards.
  • Point of Service Collections: Collect copays, co-insurance, and deductibles from patients.
  • MyChart Activation: Assist patients with MyChart activation and support.
  • Post-Visit Scheduling: Schedule follow-up appointments and diagnostic orders.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate
  • 1+ years customer service or healthcare experience
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
  • College coursework completed towards an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
  • Clerical, registration, and/or customer service experience within a healthcare setting
  • Bilingual: Documented proof of competencies via language proficiency assessments
