Position Summary:

As a Wireless Communication Systems Engineer at Saxon Global, you will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of distributed antenna systems (DAS) aimed at improving wireless communication coverage and capacity across diverse environments such as commercial buildings, sports venues, transportation hubs, and public areas.

Your collaboration with clients, project leaders, and engineering teams will be essential to ensure the effective deployment and enhancement of DAS solutions.


Design and Development:

Conduct comprehensive site assessments to determine wireless coverage needs and analyze existing infrastructure.

Create detailed DAS system designs, focusing on antenna positioning, cabling layouts, and equipment specifications while considering coverage goals and structural limitations.

Work in partnership with architects, project managers, and clients to integrate DAS requirements into construction or renovation projects.

Installation and Execution:

Supervise the installation and activation of DAS components, including antennas, cabling, amplifiers, and remote units.

Ensure system integration and configuration for compatibility and optimal performance of DAS elements.

Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to identify and rectify performance issues, interference challenges, or signal loss.

Performance Monitoring and Enhancement:

Regularly monitor and evaluate DAS performance using testing tools and software to measure signal strength, capacity, and coverage.

Recognize opportunities for improvement and suggest solutions to boost DAS performance, such as antenna adjustments, power optimization, or system reconfigurations.

Collaborate with network engineers to ensure DAS systems are effectively integrated into the broader wireless network framework.

Documentation and Communication:

Create comprehensive documentation, including system designs, installation protocols, as-built drawings, and technical reports.

Maintain precise records of equipment inventory, configurations, and system modifications.

Provide regular updates and reports to project stakeholders, emphasizing key milestones, challenges encountered, and recommendations for improvement.

Compliance and Industry Awareness:

Stay informed about industry developments, standards, and regulations pertinent to DAS engineering and wireless communication.

Ensure adherence to local building codes, safety standards, and relevant wireless communication regulations.

Collaborate with regulatory agencies or third-party organizations to secure necessary permits or certifications for DAS installations.

Qualifications and Expertise:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.

Demonstrated experience as a DAS Engineer, with a focus on DAS design, installation, and optimization projects.

In-depth knowledge of wireless communication principles, RF engineering, and antenna theory.

Proficient in utilizing industry-standard DAS design software and tools.

Familiarity with cellular network technologies (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G) and their deployment considerations.

Understanding of wireless networking protocols, including LTE, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.

Strong analytical skills and capability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with cross-functional teams and clients.

Attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently.

Familiarity with construction processes and the ability to interpret architectural and engineering plans.

Essential Skills:
Distributed Antenna Systems, RF Engineering, Familiarity with cellular network technologies (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G) and their deployment considerations. Knowledge of wireless networking protocols, such as LTE, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.

Role is on-site 5 days a week, no exceptions.

Screenings required for candidates offered the position include:
