Job Overview

The Senior Systems Support Engineer serves as the primary point of contact for complex technical issues within Meriplex Communications' Technical Assistance Center (TAC). Reporting directly to the TAC Manager, this role is essential in managing high-level support requests and ensuring customer satisfaction.


Role Responsibilities:
  • Conduct technical installations and configurations at client locations.
  • Oversee the architecture and deployment of network systems.
  • Deliver comprehensive support across the client's entire technical landscape.
  • Implement proactive maintenance strategies for client networks.
  • Act as the escalation point for technical inquiries from other teams.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members.
  • Consult with clients on system enhancements and future product recommendations.
  • Prepare detailed reports for clients to facilitate understanding of technical processes.
  • Utilize tools such as Microsoft Visio for documenting client environments.
  • Standardize operational procedures for consistent support across client systems.
  • Maintain and manage client documentation effectively.
  • Offer advanced support for Office365 and network-wide VPN access.
  • Provide expert assistance with Microsoft server environments and VMware.
  • Manage firewall configurations and multifactor authentication (MFA) solutions.
  • Support advanced environments in MS Azure and MS Exchange.
  • Oversee wireless network management and backup solutions.
  • Deliver specialized VoIP support.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Ability to create engaging presentations for diverse audiences.
  • Skilled in simplifying complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing project timelines and vendor relations.
  • Capable of communicating budgetary insights to clients.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications and advanced networking principles.
  • Strong understanding of technical troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to set realistic service delivery expectations.
  • Commitment to fostering positive client relationships through exceptional service.
  • Team-oriented mindset with respect for colleagues and clients.
  • Adherence to documentation and workflow processes.
  • Proficient in managing service requests with urgency and professionalism.
  • Expertise in Switching, Routing, Wireless, and Firewall technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in managed service provider (MSP) environments.
  • Relevant certifications such as Security+, VMware VCP, MCSE, MCSA, and Cisco.
  • Advanced knowledge of SAN and VoIP technologies.
  • Certifications in Azure and Microsoft 365.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

Physical Requirements:

This position may require lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds occasionally, with a focus on sedentary tasks involving prolonged sitting.


Compensation and Benefits:

Meriplex Communications offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, disability insurance, 401k, paid time off, holiday pay, and referral bonuses.


Salary Range:

$75,000 - $90,000 annually.
