Position Overview

In the role of National Elevator Operations Manager at Public Storage, you will benefit from a stable office-based environment with minimal travel requirements. This position offers an ideal balance between professional advancement and personal well-being. Join our Facilities team to enhance our National Elevator Program and propel strategic initiatives.

Travel is limited to less than 20%

What We Offer:

  • A competitive Total Compensation Pay Range of $150,000 - $185,000.
  • A customized compensation package based on qualifications, skills, and experience, which includes a combination of base salary, bonuses, and equity awards.

Your Contributions:

  • Oversee the management of elevator assets across our entire portfolio, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive elevator maintenance program to extend equipment lifespan and minimize repair expenses.
  • Utilize data analysis to monitor trends and mitigate elevator issues.
  • Manage inspections, violations, and enhance efficiency to reduce citations and shutdowns.
  • Assess the necessity for major elevator modernizations through field evaluations.
  • Develop specifications, scopes of work, budgets, and supervise design projects.
  • Ensure compliance with jurisdictional regulations and expedite project approvals.
  • Apply value engineering principles to optimize performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Identify and qualify vendors, negotiate bids, and manage projects from inception to completion.
  • Standardize processes and procedures for elevator system management.
  • Research and recommend innovative products and technologies for elevator assets.
  • Provide emergency support for elevator-related challenges.
  • Assist with acquisition due diligence and facilitate property transitions.
  • Maintain proactive communication with managers and team members.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in the elevator industry, with a background at a national elevator company or as a consultant.
  • Proficiency with both hydraulic and traction systems.
  • Field experience is advantageous.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Engineering, or related fields is preferred.
  • NAEC Certified Elevator Technician (CET) or NAESA Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) certification is preferred.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodations.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
