Position Overview:

Role Summary:
The Principal Epic Application Analyst is responsible for the development and enhancement of applications that align with user needs and organizational objectives. This role involves identifying areas for improvement, making informed recommendations, and implementing effective solutions. The Principal Analyst will manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, offering technical guidance and mentorship to the application analyst teams. This includes overseeing project aspects, workload distribution, and productivity monitoring, while also reviewing and analyzing systems through testing and documentation of Epic applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in daily operations and strategic planning to help the team achieve defined performance metrics.
  • Support team development to ensure consistent productivity and performance, while monitoring individual contributions and suggesting professional growth opportunities.
  • Coordinate resource planning, including workload prioritization and deadline management.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and encourage independent problem-solving within the team.
  • Act as a change agent, fostering enthusiasm for new initiatives and projects.
  • Provide ongoing mentorship in both technical and professional development areas.
  • Utilize project management methodologies to lead IT projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and addressing any risks to progress.
  • Communicate project statuses and updates to relevant stakeholders as necessary.
  • Engage in application discovery, development, documentation, training, and testing as required.
  • Conduct regular audits of system builds and documentation to maintain support consistency.
  • Participate in on-call coverage as needed, including after-hours and weekends.
  • Some travel may be required for project needs.
  • This position is eligible for remote work.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in systems analysis, programming, or design, with at least 4 years focused on the Epic platform.
  • 7 years of additional relevant experience in application support, implementation, or development within a healthcare setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare operations and integration with third-party applications.
  • Proven technical and analytical skills to troubleshoot and research within the Epic environment.
  • Epic certification in the relevant area (Cadence/Prelude) is mandatory.
  • Cross-certification or proficiency in additional Epic modules is preferred.
  • Commitment to ongoing maintenance of Epic certifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively liaise between IT and operational teams to meet enterprise needs.
  • Understanding of Epic best practices throughout the full lifecycle, including configuration, change control, and operations.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring team members.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Adaptability to a rapidly changing work environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
