Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related construction field is mandatory.
- A minimum of five years of experience in the road construction sector with expertise in bidding is essential.
- Proficiency in Excel is required.
- Strong organizational skills and effective time management are necessary.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial.
- A valid state driver's license is required, as travel to and from the office is frequent.

Position Overview:
CWR Contracting, Inc. is seeking a skilled Civil Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will operate under the direct supervision of the Area Manager and will be responsible for the following key functions:
  • Reviewing tender documents, plans, and specifications.
  • Conducting quantity take-offs utilizing AGTEK and Bluebeam software.
  • Soliciting and receiving quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Participating in site visits and taking necessary field measurements for quotation preparation.
  • Managing the Contact Management (CRM) database, ensuring accurate entry and maintenance.
  • Reviewing all plans, specifications, permits, and owner requirements in collaboration with the Estimator.
  • Preparing bid proposals and drawing lists, ensuring all documents are appropriately filed.
  • Processing and distributing all Requests for Information (R.F.I.s) related to estimating and job addendums.
  • Responding to subcontractor inquiries regarding bids.
  • Creating subcontractor comparison sheets for evaluation purposes.
  • Facilitating estimate turnovers for project managers.
  • Assisting the estimator in generating scopes of work for all trades.
  • Preparing Owner/PM bid books and post-bid buyouts.
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients and subcontractors.
  • Estimating projects using HCSS Heavy Bid software.
  • Assisting field management with cost controls and change orders.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
