Marine Operations Leader

Carlsen Mooring & Marine Services LLC is in search of a meticulous and skilled individual to fill the position of Marine Operations Leader. This role is pivotal in guaranteeing the secure and prompt execution of cargo and passenger transport. Opportunities are available for both Shoreside and live aboard positions. While working during days-off is compensated, it remains optional. Your responsibilities will encompass supervising the crew, managing the vessel's operations, and occasionally mentoring new crew members.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and maintain Diesel engines.
  • Safely navigate, operate, and maintain all vessel systems.
  • Ensure effective watchkeeping and work/sleep schedules for the crew.
  • Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) prior to each assignment.
  • Maintain precise vessel logs, including passenger and maintenance records.
  • Oversee and ensure the completion of essential vessel maintenance.
  • Operate forklifts and cranes as required.
  • Safely manage small passenger vessels.
  • Direct loading and unloading operations.
  • Facilitate cargo and passenger transfers alongside larger vessels.
  • Ensure adherence to Certificate of Inspection (COI) requirements.
  • Perform thorough Pre and Post Departure inspections.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.
  • Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Current 100 Ton USCG Near-Coastal Masters License.
  • USCG Approved First Aid/CPR certification.
  • FCC Marine Radio Operators Permit is preferred.
  • Valid USCG Medical Certificate.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proven leadership capabilities.
  • Familiarity with maritime navigation systems.
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 5-10 years of experience as a crew boat operator is preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Capability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Operate motor vehicles safely.
  • Wear personal protective equipment as necessary.
  • Ability to work in challenging weather conditions.
  • Capacity to multitask and make informed decisions.
Work Environment
  • Work is conducted both outdoors and indoors, during day and night shifts.
  • Involves working near moving and vibrating equipment.
  • Frequent exposure to noise, humidity, and bright light.
  • Potential exposure to open flames and sparks.
  • Subject to various environmental and physical hazards.
