Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Operations Analyst to join our team at Westlake Services. As a key member of our commercial marine team, you will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data from multiple databases and MS Office applications to provide actionable insights across multiple systems related to commercial marine operations.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of marine contract terms and concepts, as well as the ability to interpret and apply them to quantifiable models to assess commercial impact. You will work closely with our senior logistics analyst to develop reports for different business unit needs from a commercial and operational marine perspective.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze data from multiple databases and MS Office applications to provide actionable insights
  • Interpret and apply marine contract terms and concepts to quantifiable models
  • Develop reports for different business unit needs from a commercial and operational marine perspective
  • Work closely with senior logistics analyst to ensure shipment billing is recorded internally and processed for payment
  • Ensure internal voyage details are updated to ensure consistent metrics and their application
  • Develop reports for different business unit needs from a commercial and operational marine perspective
  • Engage with other stakeholders to ensure COPA data is updated and applied consistently
  • Maintain training on SAP, Veson (Marine TMS), Power BI, and other systems as needed
Requirements
  • B.S./B.A. degree in Logistics, Business, Engineering, or IS/IT preferred
  • 1-3 years' experience in marine operations or similar experience in logistics and supply chain
  • Extensive computer skills with emphasis in database systems (e.g. SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Marine database experience (Dataloy/Veson) is a plus
  • Process mindset with a proficiency in understanding standard marine charter terminology
  • Independent thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving, and team contribution are necessary for the candidate's success
Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
