Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Manager to join our team at Indianapolis Private Industry Council, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of human resources programs, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll administration, benefits administration, performance management, record management, and offboarding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all payroll-related tasks.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits, and serve as the main point of contact for benefits-related inquiries and issues.
  • Manage all HRIS (Paylocity, Employee Navigator, etc.) and other HR-related software applications, staying informed of updates and enhancements as needed.
  • Coordinate with hiring managers the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations.
  • Develop and implement effective onboarding processes.
  • Coordinate performance evaluation processes, providing guidance to managers and employees on goal setting and performance improvement.
  • Ensure that performance reviews are conducted regularly and fairly.
  • Coordinate with department heads to provide employees with opportunities for skill development and career advancement.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures handbook in accordance with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations, staying informed of changes and updates as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, payroll information, and other HR-related documents.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of human resources generalist or transferable experience.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, etc.), or obtained within the first 6 months.
  • Strong knowledge of HRIS systems (Paylocity preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field.
  • Experience in the non-profit or public sector.
  • 2 years of benefits or payroll administration experience.
  • Some experience managing vendor relationships and outsourced HR functions.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
