Job Summary

The Ivy Tech Community College Resource Coach will play a vital role in supporting students in achieving their academic and personal goals. This position will work closely with community and college partners to integrate services that focus on creating self-sufficiency for students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct outreach and engagement with at-risk populations to create a supportive student environment.
  • Support the planning and implementation of departmental programs and projects.
  • Collaborate with the Student Success division to improve and maximize services and develop student persistence, retention, and success strategies.
  • Engage in active outreach efforts to inform students about the services offered in the IvyCARES department.
  • Respond to and manage phone calls, emails, and student drop-ins.
  • Monitor and coordinate new student intakes to ensure timely services and follow-up.
  • Assist students in resolving current financial situations and provide proactive financial management guidance.
  • Develop plans of action and provide tools, resources, and accountability to students to help them meet their goals.
  • Assist students in applying for emergency aid and finding exterior social service resources.
  • Interface with community service organizations as needed to develop relationships and provide resources to students.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Work experience in counseling, social support services, financial management, and/or job placement.
  • Ability to process and respond quickly to student crises.
  • Effective time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local and regional travel.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population and plan, organize, and implement assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Sociology, or a related field.
  • Two to three years of experience in personal finances, employment supports, and customer care.
  • Certification in financial planning is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent working knowledge of local community resources and social services environments.
Work Environment

The Resource Coach will work primarily at the North Meridian campus, with occasional assignments at the Lawrence and Plainfield campuses as needed. Must be available Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., and occasionally weekends.
