The Opportunity

We are actively seeking a Senior Living Community Executive to enhance our leadership team. This role is pivotal in delivering comprehensive guidance for a senior living community, focusing on operational management, strategic goal setting, and sustainable growth. The Executive will lead a dedicated team, fostering a positive, open-door environment and effective communication, setting an example, and ensuring exceptional attention to detail in resident care and wellbeing. Responsibilities include staff management, training and development, enhancing resident and family satisfaction, managing occupancy levels, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing community leadership and marketing initiatives to achieve or surpass occupancy and revenue goals. The Executive actively embodies Five Star's mission, philosophies, and values in all daily interactions with team members, residents, and families.

What You'll Do

Ongoing Community Management and Communication
  • Collaborate with regional, divisional, and corporate leadership on both short and long-term planning for the community, including supporting and implementing change management initiatives.
  • Oversee the hiring, training, coaching, and development of team members across all functional areas, while providing regular performance feedback.
  • Evaluate and manage staffing levels appropriate to occupancy to ensure the needs of the community and residents are met while adhering to budgetary requirements and maintaining fiscal health.
  • Consult with regional and divisional Human Resources regarding team member-related matters, including performance, disciplinary actions, and terminations, to align with Five Star policies.
  • Keep the Regional Director of Operations informed of activities, needs, and challenges.
Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations applicable to the facility and collaborate with department heads or corporate legal as necessary.
  • Prepare and present reports as required by regulatory agencies and Five Star corporate.
Resident Experience Oversight
  • Guarantee a positive resident experience by building relationships with residents and establishing exceptional standards for team performance.
  • Facilitate a smoothly functioning, efficient operation through the timely and effective resolution of grievances from residents, families, and/or staff.
What You'll Bring

Experience & Education
  • Bachelor's degree and Administrator's license/certification per state requirements.
  • A genuine passion for working with seniors.
  • Prior experience as a General Manager, Executive Director, or Administrator within the healthcare sector.
  • Demonstrated management experience with direct supervision of a team of at least 10, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and daily operations supervision.
  • Proven financial acumen, including familiarity with financial reporting, P&L statements, labor modeling, and controlling EBITDA.
  • Experience in sales and marketing, identifying and cultivating local relationships to drive business.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat.
