Job Description

We're seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Front Desk Agent to join our team. As a Front Desk Agent, you will be responsible for greeting and registering guests, providing prompt and courteous service, and closing out guest accounts upon completion of stay. You will also be responsible for:

  • Greeting customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome, using a positive and clear speaking voice, and responding to requests with appropriate action.
  • Completing the registration process by inputting and retrieving information from a computer system, confirming pertinent information, and promoting hotel marketing programs.
  • Verifying and imprinting credit cards for authorization, handling cash, making change, and balancing an assigned house bank.
  • Promptly answering the telephone using positive and clear English communication, inputting messages into the computer, and retrieving messages and communicating the content to the guest.
  • Closing guest accounts at time of check out and ascertaining satisfaction, negotiating compromise as needed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Basic mathematical skills and considerable skill in the use of a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations without error.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information, and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the front office and continuously perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
