Position Summary:

We are in search of a Senior Environmental Project Manager (NDEC Ecologist) to enhance our team in Redmond, WA. This role offers relocation assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee environmental initiatives for significant transportation and habitat restoration projects in the Puget Sound region.
  • Lead the design process, manage environmental permitting, and ensure compliance throughout construction phases.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to minimize environmental impacts while mentoring and managing team members to achieve project objectives.
  • Utilize expertise in critical area permitting, NEPA/SEPA development, and stormwater compliance to guide projects toward sustainable outcomes.
  • Effectively manage project scope, timelines, and budgets while upholding the highest standards of environmental stewardship.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental management, particularly in compliance, heavy civil projects, NEPA/SEPA development, and environmental permitting.
  • At least 3 years of experience in transportation projects within the Pacific Northwest during the last decade.
  • In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permitting processes.
  • Strong project management capabilities, adept at juggling multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills focused on innovative and sustainable solutions.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in technical writing, capable of preparing detailed reports and documentation independently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on innovative solutions to environmental challenges, with proficiency in Geology, Wetland Biology, or Hazardous Material Remediation.
  • Professional certifications such as Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS), WSDOT Senior BA Author, Landscape Architect (PLA), Licensed Geologist (LG), or Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) are highly regarded.

Additional Qualities:

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for up to one week at a time.
  • Able to work in challenging weather conditions and terrains.

Compensation:

The anticipated salary range for this position is between $125K and $150K annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
