In this position, you will serve as a Supervisory IT Program Manager for the Risk Mapping, Assessment, and Planning Information Technology (Risk MAP IT) Program

Typical assignments include:
Leading, guiding, and supervising a growing team of federal and contractor personnel managing the Risk MAP IT Program's complex IT portfolio, which is used to develop, maintain, display, and disseminate large volumes of flood hazard and flood risk information

Leading the Risk MAP IT Program through the complexities of a 'modernization-in-place' initiative that will incrementally and iteratively re-architect the program's general support system to optimize performance in the cloud and replace its brittle application-oriented architecture with a modular architecture that can better support continuous modernization.

Driving continuous improvement of the Risk MAP IT Program's agile software development practices, including the launch of a product management capability and refinement of existing digital customer experience and business analysis capabilities to ensure that the Program's products delight customers and efficiently achieve their intended mission objectives.

Assessing program effectiveness and providing authoritative guidance in the resolution of complex information technology problems or other programmatic issues impacting flood hazard and flood risk data development, maintenance, storage, and sharing.

Using expertise in IT acquisition program management to shepherd program requirements through the DHS/FEMA acquisition, budget, and system engineering life cycles

Ensuring coordination and represents the agency with internal and external FEMA stakeholders to apply best practices and lessons learned to program development and implementation.

Activities require coordination with FEMA programs and regions as well as other DHS components.

All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description.

Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
