Centerpoint Medical Center is seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer PRN to join our Diagnostic Imaging team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing echocardiograms on patients, including infants, adolescents, and adults.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze patient information and provide calculations to assist physicians in providing appropriate care and treatment.
- Perform transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography procedures in the Echo Lab, at the patient's bedside, or as part of invasive cardiovascular procedures in the Cath Lab, EP Lab, or Operating Room.
- Administer cardiac contrast agents, start IVs as needed, and demonstrate competency in the use of transesophageal (TEE) probe high-level disinfection.
- Maintain patient records and perform other tasks to ensure the department runs effectively and efficiently.
- Respond to on-call situations within 30 minutes.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate of a cardiac sonography program and/or on-the-job training under supervision of a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge in the performance of patient procedures as required in each clinical area.
- Current registry through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) with active status in Adult Echocardiography preferred.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Saving certification required within 30 days of hire.
- One year of echo experience or graduate of cardiac sonography program with combined training and experience of at least one year.
