Staff Nurse-Step Down Float Pool-Mount Sinai Hospital-Full Time- Days

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our Step Down Float Pool team at Mount Sinai Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Responsibilities:- Deliver high-quality patient care by incorporating the principles of Relationship Centered Care and the nursing process.
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills to manage patient care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Prioritize patient care activities, including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning for post-hospital care, and delegate tasks as appropriate.
- Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Manage patient assignments and allocate resources effectively within the Modified Primary Nursing Care Delivery Model.
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing program, with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) with current registration in New York State.
- Relevant clinical competence in the area of nursing practice assigned, with new graduates possessing current knowledge of the nursing process and its application.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse with current registration in New York State.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), with additional certifications in Labor and Delivery, Neonatal Resuscitation, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) as required by the department.
