Job Title: Legal Specialist II

Washington County, OR is seeking a highly skilled Legal Specialist II to join the Felony Trial Team. The ideal candidate will provide expert legal support to designated attorneys, manage discovery and digital evidence, and assist in criminal or civil trial preparation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare files and legal documents in accordance with applicable court rules and procedures
  • Manage discovery and digital evidence, including police reports and court documents
  • Assist in criminal or civil trial preparation, including preparing subpoenas and witness statements
  • Provide high-level administrative support to designated attorneys, including managing calendars and coordinating travel arrangements
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, and four (4) years of experience providing administrative or clerical support, two (2) years of which must be in a legal support role in a law office or in an office environment with a focus on legal issues
  • Or, four (4) years of experience providing administrative or clerical support, one (1) year of which is in a prosecutor's office
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in a related field or a Paralegal certificate may substitute for two (2) years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of the legal field and criminal justice or child support systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
