Certified Nurse Assistant II

As a member of the nursing team, the Certified Nurse Assistant II will work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse on assignments that are routine in nature and within authorized duties of the CNA 2 Acute Care. The successful candidate will perform tasks with predetermined procedures and guidance, with supervision provided as needed. This role supports the RN in patient care delivery, prioritizing comfort and safety, and adhering to identified training and certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Problem Solving: Work tasks are fully defined, and the candidate will refer more difficult issues to the RN.
- Decision-Making: The candidate will use judgment to perform tasks and accept accountability for their actions.
- Compliance Accountability: The Certified Nurse Assistant II will consistently support compliance and the Principles of Responsibility by maintaining patient confidentiality, protecting organizational assets, and adhering to applicable laws and regulations.
- Communication Skills: The candidate will demonstrate effective written and verbal communication, documenting and relaying messages accurately, and reporting patient information in a timely manner.
- Service Orientation: The Certified Nurse Assistant II will demonstrate a commitment to service, contributing to a positive patient care experience, and anticipating customer needs.
- Assessment or Observation Skills: The candidate will obtain vital signs, collect data, and report values outside given parameters.
- Critical Thinking Skills: The Certified Nurse Assistant II will demonstrate problem-solving abilities, identifying resources, and prioritizing tasks.
- Technology Skills: The candidate will demonstrate technological literacy in using computerized information systems and clinical procedures.
- Knowledge: The Certified Nurse Assistant II will attend mandatory inservices, display clinical knowledge, and assist in identifying learning needs.
- Legal & Ethical Responsibilities: The candidate will provide care within the limits of authorized duties, demonstrating knowledge of legal responsibilities, and adhering to HIPAA and confidentiality policies.
- Team Focus: The Certified Nurse Assistant II will interact effectively with the healthcare team, demonstrating flexibility, and supporting team goals.
- Leadership & Change Management: The candidate will identify and support new ideas, demonstrating the ability to support change efforts, and acting as a resource to team members.
- Completion of an OSBN-approved CNA 1 Program.
- One year of experience as a CNA 1.
- Nursing Assistant Certificate - Level 2 (Oregon).
- Basic Life Support within one month of hire.
- Previous experience as a CNA 2 Acute Care.
- Computer keyboarding skills.
