Position Overview

This role is integral to the daily management of the 401(k) plan and various employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, and health plan accounts. The position involves recommending enhancements to current processes and providing analytical and technical support for the effective delivery of these benefit programs. Compliance with plan regulations is essential, and the role includes leading significant benefit-related initiatives such as the implementation of new vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the organization’s benefits and 401(k) plans. Monitor and audit data entries and payroll deductions to ensure precision. Oversee benefit-related integration files, addressing errors and implementing corrective measures for recurring issues.
  • Utilize knowledge of benefit plan regulations and compliance to analyze and interpret the company’s benefit offerings, providing guidance and general information to HR Business Partners. Act as the primary contact for routine and non-routine vendor inquiries regarding benefit plans, escalating complex issues as necessary.
  • Support special projects by gathering, compiling, and analyzing data; generate and assess established reports to ensure data integrity and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Adjust reports as needed for further analysis.
  • Enhance knowledge and adhere to federal and state regulations, including the Affordable Care Act and other compliance reporting, to assist with benefit administration and year-end processing. Collect data for required forms and provide assistance with basic audit inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Relevant Experience or Degree in: Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Typically requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in Benefits and 401(k) administration
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Typically 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in benefits administration, particularly with large employers and mergers & acquisitions
  • Certification in Benefits, such as CBP or CEBS
