ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Automotive Claims Specialist will conduct investigations, assess, negotiate, and resolve assigned claims based on on-site evaluations, damage assessments, and direct representation of Preferred Mutual. This role will also involve collaboration with agency partners.

QUALIFICATIONS:


• Required: Licensed Auto Damage Appraiser.


• A valid driver's license in good standing is essential.


• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in estimating.


• Proficiency in auto estimating software (e.g., CCC, Audatex, Mitchell).


• Industry certifications/technical designations preferred but not mandatory (e.g., I-CAR).


• Familiarity with repair facilities in the designated area.


• Experience in light truck/heavy equipment estimating preferred but not required.


• In-depth knowledge of auto body repair techniques, terminology, and vehicle construction.


• Strong understanding of the insurance policies provided by the company.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions and travel significant distances.


• Must be capable of inspecting vehicles in various settings, including tight spaces at repair shops and salvage yards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Responsible for drafting auto appraisals for both repairable and total loss vehicles, conducting desk reviews, re-inspections, and assisting in claim investigations as necessary.


• Schedule assignments promptly and travel to vehicle locations.


• Manage indemnity and expenses through thorough inspections and accurate appraisals.


• Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional demeanor.


• Ensure proper documentation and reporting of files.


• Identify potential fraudulent claims and report them to the appropriate departments for further investigation.


• Provide or facilitate responses to inquiries regarding the appraisal or repair processes.


• Support colleagues as needed.


• Conduct audits and re-inspections of independent appraisers as required.


• Build relationships with brokers and agency partners within the territory.


• Collaborate with Claims Leadership and other teams to meet departmental and corporate objectives.


• Lead research initiatives related to repair and appraisal practices.

The base salary range for this position is $67,000 to $96,000, based on experience and relevant qualifications.
