Role Summary

The Clinical Trial Capabilities (CTC) organization provides the necessary infrastructure, support, and solutions that enable Clinical Operations and Development Organizations to execute clinical trials efficiently, rapidly, and in compliance with regulations, delivering transformative medicines to patients.

The Business Strategy & Operations team within the CTC organization is tasked with driving strategic and operational enhancements and implementing processes for Clinical Operations. The Senior Manager, Business Strategy & Operations will oversee and manage new workstreams and initiatives for the Clinical Operations division within a dynamic and highly regulated environment. Additionally, this role will encompass multi-project responsibilities and serve as a project manager for complex initiatives and working groups as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as Project Manager, steering assigned initiatives/projects and working groups to ensure timely progression Serve as an execution implementation lead, ensuring that completed initiatives are integrated and established as standard practices within Clinical Operations (including office hours and collaboration with learning and development for training implementation) Engage in new and existing Clinical Operations and non-Clinical Operations led workstreams/initiatives to provide insights and drive key processes from a Clinical Operations viewpoint Report on study CRO/Vendor sourcing strategies and headcount allocations Review and propose modifications to Clinical Operations process management/improvement and related procedural documentation in partnership with business process owners, cross-functional stakeholders, and subject matter experts Collaborate with other CTC sub-functions to guide study teams, business process owners, cross-functional stakeholders, and subject matter experts on initiative recommendations Promote standardization and the adoption of best practices throughout the Clinical Operations organization

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Project Management Fundamentals

Navigate projects through ambiguous circumstances and shifting priorities Manage multiple projects while ensuring quality outputs from oneself and the team Align stakeholders, manage project scope, and drive teams towards achieving timelines Collaborate with key stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables for process optimization initiatives. Influence leaders across various disciplines through a project plan by providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure successful project execution Implement project/process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma to foster continuous improvement across the organization (preferred, but not mandatory)

Core Technical Skills

Analyze problems and logically structure problem-solving strategies to address identified/anticipated issues Comprehensive knowledge of FDA, EMA, and other relevant national regulations, including ICH guidelines and GCP Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills Synthesize inputs from various stakeholders into coherent deliverables and outputs

Interpersonal Skills

Strong change advocate with a solid understanding of change management strategies Strong leadership presence with a proven ability to lead without direct authority and influence programs, projects, and/or initiatives Demonstrate strategic enterprise thinking to discover innovative methods to enhance process efficiency Support the organization and key stakeholders on a change journey with discipline, transparency, and authenticity

Education & Experience

6+ years of relevant experience (Clinical Operations/project management, process improvement) with a Bachelor's degree 4+ years of relevant experience (Clinical Operations/project management, process improvement) with a Master's degree Experience in one or more therapeutic areas (and managing clinical trials) at various stages of drug development is highly preferred.

The salary range for this position is competitive and considers various factors such as experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Actual compensation may vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a comprehensive benefits package, including company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
