Resource Family Specialist

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) is seeking a skilled Resource Family Specialist to join our Child & Family Services (CFSD) team. As a key member of our Program Bureau, you will play a vital role in developing resource families for children in need of temporary or permanent care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, license, and retain foster, kinship, guardianship, and adoptive families
  • Provide technical assistance and case management support to resource families
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field
  • One year of experience working in professions related to providing services for children or recruitment, licensing, or retention of foster parents
  • Strong knowledge of Child Welfare practices and ability to work effectively in emotionally charged environments
