About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in leading high-performing teams and delivering robust, secure, and leading-edge technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead high-performing teams that optimize operational and strategic project intake services, fostering a sense of belonging and ownership among team members.
  • Lead and participate in multiple initiatives, completing and updating documentation, determining daily priorities, and ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of tasks and milestones for the team.
  • Communicate with executive product owners and stakeholders regarding priorities, roadmaps, and project status.
  • Understand business needs and assist non-technical users in defining business requirements and prioritization.
  • Communicate business directives, goals, and needs to technical teams, managing user expectations and project priorities.
  • Document business requirements, process workflows, and results of business analysis gathering, obtaining sign-off from users on specifications.
  • Analyze current business processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement, developing and proposing solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Own the design, development, and maintenance of reports and dashboards serving various levels of the organization, ensuring data accuracy, visualization, effectiveness, and alignment with business needs.
  • Lead meetings for all levels of management for presentations, reviews, approvals of recommendations, etc.
  • Advocate for the adoption of Scrum and Agile values, emphasizing continuous improvement, collaboration, and timely delivery, ensuring projects align with requirements and follow best practices.
  • Proactively support the team in adhering to Agile and Scrum frameworks, serving as the backup Scrum master.
  • Create user stories and acceptance criteria to articulate project requirements effectively.
  • Partner closely with other IT teams, analysts, and project managers to work on projects and initiatives, fostering effective communication and alignment across teams.
  • Plan and conduct testing, such as quality assurance testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Coordinate and reconcile budgets to ensure projects are within budget.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
  • Develop internal and external relationships for knowledge sharing, attending professional meetings, workshops, conferences, and seminars.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • International Institute of Business Analysis Agile Analysis Certification – IIBA AAC (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including any combination of CRM or marketing automation end-user experience, system configuration, business analysis, project management, process improvement.
  • Working in a fast-paced environment while managing simultaneous projects.
  • Higher education business processes (preferred).
  • Agile background (preferred).
Desirable Skills and Qualities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Smartsheet, Lucid Chart (preferred).
