Job Overview
We are in search of a proficient Senior Azure Cloud Administrator. This role involves regular collaboration with internal teams, external partners, Network Administrators, and Technical Services leadership. The primary responsibility is to oversee and support both internal and client-facing systems hosted in Azure and other cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary skills to manage, monitor, and decommission Azure services, alongside experience with Office 365 administration. The role also entails working closely with the Network and Security teams on Active Directory and infrastructure technologies, with a passion for cloud environments and a desire to contribute to an innovative team.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Optimize existing Azure cloud environments.
  • Monitor and enhance security measures for current and future Azure setups, with a focus on NSG configurations.
  • Assess and automate scaling and capacity needs within Azure environments.
  • Comprehend federated access across Active Directory and Azure Active Directory.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance, connectivity, and security issues within Azure environments.
  • Implement new cloud environments in Azure.
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate Azure infrastructure components into established processes.
  • Undertake additional duties as required.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or a minimum of seven years of equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of experience supporting applications and functions within the Azure Cloud.
  • Relevant certifications in cloud environments are preferred, such as MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure or CCNA Cloud.
Required Skills:
  • Extensive experience in implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Microsoft Azure solutions, including key services related to Compute, Storage, Network, and Security.
  • Strong understanding of Backup, Restore, Recovery, and high availability strategies for Azure environments.
  • Proficient in IaaS and PaaS services.
  • Experience with Windows Server and SQL database management, including creation, configuration, migration, and patching.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting Azure environment performance, connectivity, and security issues.
  • Familiarity with R and Python ecosystems.
  • Ability to identify and resolve Azure server and SQL database resource issues.
  • Comprehensive understanding of complex Active Directory, Azure AD, LDAP, and adherence to standards and procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Kerberos, and Windows Authentication.
  • Familiarity with network protocols such as DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, and SFTP.
  • Knowledge of network routing and subnetting principles.
  • Understanding of Cisco network equipment and IOS, including routing, switching, and firewalls.
  • Proficient in Windows operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of VPN connectivity and client troubleshooting.
  • Experience managing Azure AD and Active Directory, including GPO maintenance.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for articulating complex concepts clearly. A self-motivated individual who can tackle challenges independently while proactively supporting the team is highly desirable.
