Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain novel AI-based computational pipelines or apply existing bioinformatic tools for biological discovery.
- Assist in analysis pipeline and algorithms development and validation.
- Extract features of interest from data relating to specific biological questions.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of genomic and clinical databases.
- Perform statistical and integrative data analysis on genomics and clinical data.
- Supervise team members and other data analysts.
- Establish standard operating procedures, documentation, and scripts to generate custom reports.
- Progress material for bioinformatics tutorials and training courses.
- Test the characterization and integration of diverse third-party bioinformatics algorithms.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field; Master's in computer science, or bioinformatics preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in machine learning (artificial intelligence, AI) is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work with version control systems to manage code repositories and facilitate team collaboration.
- Assist with other lab members' research and coding efforts, including code review to ensure code quality, performance, and share knowledge.
- Participate in scheduled lab meetings within the lab, department, or with collaborators.
- Evidence of scholarly ability (e.g., record of publication in peer-reviewed journals).
