Job Summary

As a Sales Representative for Global Compression Services, Inc., you will be responsible for selling products and services for natural gas compression equipment in a defined territory. This role requires strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage time and territory effectively
  • Call on all assigned customers minimum of once per quarter
  • Pursue new business opportunities
  • Plan effective sales calls with call objectives aimed at driving parts and repair service market share
  • Utilize product and service resources effectively
  • Serve as consultant for customers to assist in providing parts and repair solutions
  • Communicate effectively with sales management and develop working relationships with parts personnel, shop technicians, and Project Sales Representative
  • Demonstrate effective communication with customers and develop strong, positive relationships with all assigned customers
  • Follow up with customers on status of part orders or service repairs as needed
  • Ensure that customers are advised of changes in costs and delivery
  • Complete all paperwork and reports accurately and timely
  • Inform Sales Management of market conditions and provide regular sales forecasts
  • Sell products and services by providing a pickup and delivery service
  • Face to face interactions with customers
  • Overnight travel as needed
  • Administrative duties as required

Requirements
  • Highly self-motivated, high-energy and have the desire to be successful
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record
  • Ability to comply with Company's substance abuse policy
  • Experience using Salesforce or other CRM software a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Moderate computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Familiar with web navigation, experience working with databases
