About Us:

The Electronics Division within the Purchasing Department is tasked with the solicitation, negotiation, awarding, and documentation of purchase orders, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and governmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the procurement authority, managing various high-value and intricate orders, which includes conducting detailed price evaluations, identifying and selecting qualified suppliers, and working under tight deadlines while complying with all institutional and governmental guidelines.
  • As a seasoned buyer, facilitate regular discussions with internal stakeholders to ascertain procurement requirements, alongside frequent interactions with strategic suppliers and collaboration with other departments.
  • Effectively communicate with vendors and internal teams to gather and review Statements of Work (SOW) or Technical Specifications.
  • Ensure the appropriate terms are communicated and follow established protocols to negotiate terms and conditions.
  • Continuously seek and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
Daily and Monthly Duties:
  • Utilize the procurement system to create Purchase Orders, expedite orders, resolve procurement issues, and perform other related tasks.
  • Issue requests for proposals as required; conduct supplier sourcing as necessary.
  • Manage high-value complex orders and provide support for all buyers within the team.
  • Comply with organizational business and operational guidelines.
  • Mentor junior buyers and assist them with their procurement challenges.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to establish priorities, set expectations, and provide guidance on policies and procedures while addressing their concerns.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business or a related field, with an MBA being preferred.
  • Over 6 years of demonstrated experience in administering, negotiating, and awarding Government Contracts/Orders, with a solid understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARs).
  • More than 6 years of proven high-quality written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership capacity.
  • A valid and clear driver’s license is mandatory.
