Position Summary

This role is essential for our operations and requires reliable commuting or relocation.

As a Service Technician, your primary responsibility will be to conduct repairs on audio and video equipment, including both customer-owned and company-owned devices. This role involves detailed electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, as well as component-level repairs. You will also assist with product inspections, custom wiring, and assembly tasks, while providing technical support to both internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections, testing, diagnostics, and repairs on various audio and video equipment, including amplifiers, mixers, powered speakers, and more.
  • Collaborate with the Parts Department to source necessary components for repairs.
  • Prepare detailed estimates covering labor, parts, and materials for repair work.
  • Execute warranty repairs in compliance with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Engage with customers to gather information for accurate diagnostics and communicate repair findings effectively.
  • Perform custom wiring and assembly tasks, including modifications to audio connectors.
  • Foster teamwork by contributing to the team’s service and financial objectives.
  • Manage multiple repair jobs efficiently while addressing customer service needs as directed.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy and quality to minimize returns and complaints.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow technicians on complex repairs.
  • Conduct functional inspections of returned products and provide feedback for loss mitigation.
  • Adhere to safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas.
  • Assist in maintaining parts inventory to ensure timely repairs.
  • Provide technical assistance to customers as needed.
  • Support the training and development of apprentice technicians.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate's degree or certification in Electronics Servicing, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electronics repair.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with audio, video, lighting, and electronic musical instruments.
