Position Overview

Opportunity: Cyber Strategy and Policy Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Summary: Hoplite Group is in search of a part-time Cyber Strategy and Policy SME to assist in enhancing Institutional Capacity Building (ICB) for partner nations. We are looking for professionals with extensive experience in crafting comprehensive cyber strategies.

Work Arrangement: This role offers remote support with potential engagements in partner nations.

Engagement Details: The position is part-time, focusing on capacity building both remotely and on-site. Each engagement will require approximately 80 hours, covering pre-engagement preparations, advising, and post-engagement activities. During non-travel months, up to 30 hours of intercessional support may be required.

Immediate Availability: We are looking to fill this position promptly.

Objective: The primary goal is to provide professional ICB support through advisory services aimed at assisting a partner nation's Ministry of National Defense and Armed Forces in developing effective solutions to cybersecurity and cyber defense challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design a tailored Cyber ICB approach and engagement strategy aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Create educational content for both virtual and face-to-face engagements.
  • Facilitate and manage ICB engagements effectively.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Strategic Planning: Ability to devise long-term cyber strategies that align with national security objectives, considering geopolitical dynamics and technological advancements.
  • Policy Development: Expertise in analyzing and formulating cybersecurity policies, understanding legal frameworks, and adapting military cyber strategies to meet evolving threats.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including network security, threat intelligence, and incident response.
  • Legal Knowledge: Familiarity with cybersecurity laws and regulations.
  • Interdisciplinary Insight: Understanding of the intersection between international relations, military operations, and cybersecurity.
  • Security Clearance: U.S. Citizenship with a DoD Secret Clearance is required.
