Role Overview:
As an Electrical Installation Project Engineer, you will be pivotal in bridging the gap between the engineering design team and the construction team, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Formulating detailed plans for the installation of electrical systems, taking into account operational limitations and proactively identifying potential challenges.
  • Exhibiting a practical approach by transcending standard design conformity evaluations and adopting a comprehensive review strategy, which may involve developing a database or utilizing alternative tools.
  • Providing assistance on various construction-related issues to support the overall success of the project.
  • Enhancing Assystem's understanding of EPR (European Pressurized Reactor) construction activities and working alongside the Operational Excellence (OPEX) team to promote future project enhancements.

Optimizing Electrical Installation Activities:

Your role will also involve:

  • Ensuring adherence to technical and safety standards.
  • Being proactive during the preparatory phase to minimize outstanding issues.
  • Identifying weaknesses to mitigate potential problems.
  • Engaging proactively to reduce schedule delays and costs.

You will review surveillance plans in accordance with project policies and documentation, oversee the installation process to ensure compliance with UK regulations, and monitor the progress of technical documentation approvals, prioritizing tasks accordingly. Engaging with stakeholders will be essential to support the successful execution of activities while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Furthermore, you will implement project policies, processes, and contracts to guarantee the delivery of superior outcomes, coordinate and assist in the conformity assessment process, and generate regular progress reports to keep all parties informed of project status. Building strong relationships with HPC (Hinkley Point C), regulatory authorities, and the supply chain will be crucial.


Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
  • A background in the construction and installation of electrical systems.
  • High levels of computer literacy, particularly strong data analysis skills.
  • Familiarity with BIM and tools such as Navisworks is highly advantageous.

Experience:
Several years of demonstrated experience in similar positions, coupled with strong communication and interpersonal skills, are essential. You should be capable of working independently and translating operational experience into OPEX strategies. Experience in the nuclear sector is beneficial but not mandatory.

Language Proficiency:
Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is required for technical documentation and daily communications. Proficiency in French is a plus.
